Playing in very poor conditions including mud, poor lighting and poor field markings, the Under19s managed to secure a hard fought and well deserved 0-1 win against a very physical Vasco team. The scholars showed good technical discipline, sticking to the Cape United philosophy despite conditions.
After a sweeping move out of defence, Lindani Ntamo received the ball in the 6 yard box, turned and slotted the ball home for a half time lead. Vasco upped their game in the second half and came close to securing an equaliser. Although penetrating the Vasco defence on numerous occasions in the second half, our boys struggled to find that finishing touch to seal the game and bravely hung on for a deserved 0-1 win.
